Zutara Week is upon us! And it’s time to get our vote on!

(For those of you just hearing about Zutara Week, it’s been a week-long celebrated tradition dating back to 2008, post-A:TLA finale. Users Greenifyme and Trishna87 put together a week filled with creative prompts for users to submit artwork and fanfic based around. Even more so, there have been original music compositions and music videos in the past, as well!

Luckily for you, participation is booming. We’re almost 2,000 strong at home on our DeviantArt Community, booming with nearly 400 followers on this blog, as well!)

Needless to say, we’ll be celebrating our 6th year this summer, with some added challenges ahead. We’re hoping to make this our biggest year as one of the original fandom weeks, so show us a little love. ;)

The first order of business is selecting a week to hold the festivities! If you’re on DeviantArt, it’s recommended you vote in the polls there [x]. Remember! We poll in rounds. Next friday we’ll be posting Poll #2 if there is too much of a tie in the votes.

(Alternatively, if you’re not on DeviantArt, please submit an ask with the date of your choosing [x]. (Anon is turned off for now.)

Do not vote in both polls! Pick one or the other!

The second order of business is prompt submissions. As most of you are aware, we can’t have Zutara Week without prompts! Every year, we ask for suggestions from our userbase! Be sure to reference back to our DeviantArt Community so that you’re not repeating any prompts from years’ past!

Help Pug Buy a Wacom Cintiq!

Okay, so here is a better post about this. For those who don’t know yet, I am currently attempting to raise money to purchase myself a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. It’s going to cost me about $1000 and, using IndieGogo as a platform to help crowdfund, I’m hoping you guys can help me.

Without going into my life story, I can say with confidence that the majority of my artwork lacks in quality (by my standard) because I do not have a sufficient work setup. As a design artist and becoming animator, I am constantly churning out artwork - art-sprinting,if you want to call it. While Bamboo Create (and other lower-end Wacom products) are great tools to help with Digital artwork, it’s become very limiting to my own creativity to continue working with a tool that does not register brush strokes and sensitivity as well as it could.

Here is a direct comparison of what painting in Photoshop is like with Bamboo Create (the current tablet I own)

And a Wacom Cintiq

It takes less time and effort to create something with absolute precision than it does with my current setup. What would normally take me days to complete on my current setup, really only takes me hours to do with a more hands-on tool. My workflow will increase tenfold if I could just get my hands on one of these new pen displays.

In return for your generosity, I am also gifting monetary contributions with  “Perks”. The cool thing about Indiegogo is that if you help me, I give you something in return. Some examples include: Blog shout-outs or features to my 7000+ followers, 1.5” pinback buttons with art of your choice, prints of your choice, or even a commission. The smallest contribution is a $1, so please consider. My main reason for using this crowdfunding site as a platform is because with the way money is right now and my current commission load from my last expense, it would take me years to save up for this on my own.

That said, my campaign is all or nothing. So, if I fail to raise the funds before May 17th, neither of us get anything. It’s pretty cut ‘n dry that way.

If you can’t contribute, for any reason, please signal boost! I really love to draw and I love to draw for my followers, too, even if I don’t necessarily respond to all of your suggestions and requests. It would help me so much if I could finally afford to get this Cintiq and put it to good use.

So this is a thing from this fic I wrote called Falling, and omgbeanthisissofuckingpreciousican’thandleit.

“You can’t die,” she murmured.

He found himself sitting on the edge of her bed. Zuko didn’t remember moving from his chair. She was concentrating on the hand of his she held between her own. He brushed the hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear.

“Neither can you.”

Zuko leaned forward and pressed his lips against her forehead. Katara froze. He pulled back. She stared at him, biting her lip. His ears burned, and the back of his neck itched something awful.
